The Bartlett pear is an easy to grow fruit tree that will produce large and delicious fruit in late summer, and can produce for nearly 100 years. This tree blooms in the spring, with showy white flowers, and produces a yellow fruit with smooth and juicy white flesh in late August or early September. A common use for this fruit is canning, preservers, or even jams. The Bartlett pear likes acidic, moist, well-drained soil. At a mature height of 12 to 20 feet and a spread of 10 to 20 feet.
